The Museum of Scottish Lighthouses is a well- established Museum with ambitious plans for future expansion of its services. We hold a nationally significant accredited and recognised collection, play a vital role within the local community and pride ourselves on being a welcoming and inclusive place to visit and work.
The Museum is a registered charity operated as a company limited by guarantee. The Board of Directors of the company are also Trustees of the charity.
To help us recover from the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic and to achieve our plans to further broaden our offering for the good of the local community and economy we are seeking enthusiastic and committed members of the public to join our Board. We need Trustees who can use their experience and skills to help and support the Museum team to deliver a world class visitor attraction, preserve an important part of Scotland’s Industrial Heritage and to bring tangible benefit to the people of Fraserburgh. Trustees will preferably bring skills in one or more of the following areas:
• Human Resources
• Public Relations
• Event Management.
• Fundraising Skills
• Museum and Galleries
• Community Education
The Board Meetings are held every three months at the Museum, on a Wednesday morning between 1000hrs and 1200hrs. If necessary Board members are able to join the meetings virtually.
The Board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of the Museum, providing guidance and support to the Museum Manager and staff. To find out more about joining the Board, please contact the Chair of Trustees in writing or by email and we can arrange a virtual meeting or phone call with one of our trustees to tell you about the work of our exciting museum. The closing date for applications is Friday 24 September 2021
