Introduction: This paper ells of R. Buckminster Fuller’s “Dwelling Machine,” the Dymaxion House, and recounts the original project to conserve and reconstruct its prototype as a permanent exhibit in The Henry Ford Museum. Long-term exhibition entails yearly maintenance and eventually required modifications to accommodate visitor traffic. Damages found in 2012 necessitated serious intervention and inspired a testing regime to model the expected longevity of the repaired structure.
